2012 DANA Block Party – Bigger and Better Than Ever!
July 22nd, 2012 · No Comments
Downtown Associates of North Attleborough announces final details for the Annual Block Party and Volleyball Tournament on Tuesday, July 24th 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm (rain or shine). DANA thanks their 2012 chief sponsor, TD Bank; dunk tank sponsor Bank of America; and Kid’s Zone sponsors The Children’s Workshop, St. Mary’s-Sacred Heart Parish and Kerry Vigorito.
The popular “Kid’s Zone” will return to Veteran’s Park in front of Town Hall. Kids can enjoy an expanded menu of activities, from train rides to a jump-a-roo, plasma scooters, bowling, twister, and a climbing wall. Kids can try to dunk their favorite camp counselor in the Dunk Tank. Enter the raffle to win your own plasma scooter for just $1 a ticket!
Radio Disney will return downtown after a long hiatus, and be located near the Kid’s Zone. Sponsored by Gulf Oil, they will play songs for the kids, and give away gas cards for the adults. At dusk, a surprise movie will be shown; bring a blanket and pretend you’ve been chipwrecked in a tropical paradise with the kids! Showcase Pro Wrestlers will return to downtown, located on South Washington St., not far from Town Hall.
Look for the Bristol County Sheriff’s IRIS Recognition Scanner, and get a free high-res scan of your child’s or a vulnerable adult’s eye. The Lion’s Eyemobile will be downtown too!
We again welcome CAT Country WCTK from 5-7pm as they host a live remote with Cat Country personality Lauren Petisce, who will be on hand to greet fans, make announcements and conduct contests. The Cat Country Mascot, Jake the Cat, will make appearances and will be available for pictures.
Satellite parking is available at North Attleborough Middle School, with shuttles by Park & Rec’s Big Red and GATRA. The shuttles will run from the middle school to the downtown fire station from 5pm to 8:30pm. There will be NO PARKING along North & South Washington Sts. after 3pm on Tuesday.
A great variety of cars will be on display at our always popular Cruise Night, and will stretch along North Washington St. from High St. north toward Fisher St.
If you have any questions, or would like to volunteer to help with any of the planning, execution or clean up, call the DANA office at 508-695-4814 or the Park & Rec office at 508-695-699-0145; email DANA at downtownassociates@gmail.com, or check out our Facebook page, search DANA 02760.
