Early Charles M. Kokuluk carving.  Noted Inupiaq artist, of King Island, Nome and Anchorage, Alaska.  Known for his realistic carvings of Alaskan birds in walrus ivory. Works in the British Museum and other prominent collections. This muskox was carved in Nome, Alaska in 1970, very early in his career. This stone musk ox is approximately 3 1/2 inches long, 1 inch wide and 1 1/2 inches tall. There is wear and the stone has a few flaws. See it here on eBay
