Early Charles M. Kokuluk carving. 

Noted Inupiaq artist, of King Island, Nome and Anchorage, Alaska. 
Known for his realistic carvings of Alaskan birds in walrus ivory.

Works in the British Museum and other prominent collections.

This muskox was carved in Nome, Alaska in 1970, very early in his career.
This stone musk ox is approximately 3 1/2 inches long, 1 inch wide and 1 1/2 inches tall.
There is wear and the stone has a few flaws.

This stone musk ox is approximately 3 1/2 inches long, 1 inch wide and 1 1/2 inches tall.
There may or may not be a tiny chip on the right rear foot. It may be a natural flaw of the stone. See last photo.

Carl Johan Trygg Carving Hobo Man Patched Pants Signed




 Wonderfully clean in an excellent condition this wooden figure of a man was carved and signed by Carl Johan Trygg (1887-1954).

The figurine stands six and one eighth interest tall.
Done in the Scandinavian flat plane style of wood carving.
