Unusual Mid Century PARACHUTIST Artist Signed Ltd Ed 11/35 Portrait of a Handsome Young Man

 

Large portrait of a handsome young parachutist under the canopy of his chute, drifting back to earth. In very good condition. Very limited edition, it is number 11/35 and titled "Parachitist". Signed illegibly by the artist. Dated 1966. Measures 26" x 32.5". The mat has some staining in bottom left corner. The frame has some wear and tear. Hand made cased glass paperweight. It is approximately 6 in long and 3 inches tall and 5 inches at its widest point.

Tranquil Forest Watercolor Painting Birch Trees Landscape Signed

 

Gorgeous watercolor painting is beautifully matted and framed. Very, very nice frame. Extraordinary Victorian Carved Crystal Hand Sculpture 1800s Paperweight

 

Queen Victoria commissioned souvenir sculptures of her children's limbs, arms, feet and hands and gifted them to Albert, starting a fad.

I believe this hand is carved out of crystal. The plinth appears to be molded and cut black glass.

This is quite an eye catcher as wherever any light hits the clear hand, it emits an eerie glow. 

It almost appears to be frosted glass but it is not. 

It could be a mourning piece as the base is black.

It is in exceptional condition with some natural faults inside the crystal and some flea bites and flaws inherent to it's artisan nature.

This displays beautifully. Very playful with lighting. 

Quite rare.

Muskox Stone Carving Sculpture Alaska Inuit Artist Charles M Kokuluk Nome 1970

Early Charles M. Kokuluk carving. 

Noted Inupiaq artist, of King Island, Nome and Anchorage, Alaska. 

Known for his realistic carvings of Alaskan birds in walrus ivory.

Works in the British Museum and other prominent collections.

This muskox was carved in Nome, Alaska in 1970, very early in his career.

This stone musk ox is approximately 3 1/2 inches long, 1 inch wide and 1 1/2 inches tall.

There may or may not be a tiny chip on the right rear foot. It may be a natural flaw of the stone. See last photo.

Vintage Alebrije Porcupine Hand Made Folk Art Oaxaca Mexico Copal Rainbow Colors

 

Delightful vintage Mexican Folk Art figurine is in very good condition. Talented Mexican artists hand carved its body from copal wood and its quills from  maguey plant fiber. They use a multiple array of vibrant colors to give life to this porcupine and  decorate it with the traditional and detailed motifs that distinguish Mexico's alebrije artwork. It is approximately 3.5 inches tall, 5 inches long and 6 inches wide. None of the toothpick like quills are missing.  I was able to remove and replace them when dusting it. Sweet little white piggy bank with a flower decorating his back.  Made in Portugal by Loucas Noe. Imported by Tracey Imports of Lakeville, Ma. Mid century.
