Cool Art Deco cuff links feature a highly stylized leaping impala or antelope.

Done in white guilloche enameling with black accents in the scrumptious honey colored patina of

gold washed 925 Sterling silver vermeil. 

Crafted by Norwegian Modernist Hans Christian Ostrem OXO and of exceptional quality.

In very good condition with very minor usage wear.

Unusual Mid Century PARACHUTIST Artist Signed Ltd Ed 11/35 Portrait of a Handsome Young Man

 

Large portrait of a handsome young parachutist under the canopy of his chute, drifting back to earth. In very good condition. Very limited edition, it is number 11/35 and titled "Parachitist". Signed illegibly by the artist. Dated 1966. Measures 26" x 32.5". The mat has some staining in bottom left corner. The frame has some wear and tear. Notre Dame Mid Century Paris Watercolor by Ch. Maurice Noted Cathedral Painter

Just an absolutely beautiful mid century image of Notre Dame cathedral and the artists that sold their work in its view. Painted in the 1950s ,as you can tell from the clothing on the individuals, it depicts a post war Paris street scene.
I believe the painting is a watercolor with conte crayon. In the corner it is signed Ch Maurice in a very distinctive signature. Poor Charles Maurice, can be found on the web being called Maurice Charles, and given an assortment of birthdates relating to many other historic Charles Maurices. Which is a shame, because his work is very good. This beautifully framed painting measures 28“ x 24 in inches. The inside opening image measures 21 1/2“ x 18“. Purchased from a local estate it is in very very good condition but probably could stand to be re-matted.

Brutalist Wood Cut Chariots by A.Tapper 1961 MCM

Really, a fabulous Brutalist wood cut print of chariot wheels - marked in pencil, “Chariot sketch” in the left corner and  A. Tapper 1961 on the right.

A strikingly harsh visual, expressively done in black on cream white. It would be a handsome addition to any mid-century home that was into 20th century modern design. The rice print paper itself is in very good condition, but it will need a new mat when it is put in a frame, as you can see in the photos. The mat is 18” x 14”, the inside cut out size is 14 1/4 x 10 1/4”

Mid century Paris street scene silkscreen in original frame

This wonderful silk screen of a street scene in the art district of Montmartre France is in excellent vintage condition with vivid colors. I believe this was done during the postwar era due to the colors and style of this beautiful piece of art. Tucked inside of the frame is the word Montmartre in the left hand corner, and Brouche’ in the right.
I think it’s a 40s/50s representation of an earlier time.

The outside of the frame measures 14.5”x17.5”.
I replaced the original beat up cardboard backing with foam core.
