 WILLIAM T. ALDRICH Watercolor Painting LOW TIDE New England Seascape is in very good condition.

The frame has some wear and tear. The mat has foxing. 

Needs a wire to hang. 

His wife's label is on the back.

William T. Aldrich, a 20th century Boston painter, was a member of the Providence Art Club.  Although more prolific in watercolor, he apparently also painted in oil as the Fogg Museum has in their collection an oil portrait on canvas by him of Nelson Wilmarth Aldrich (1841-1915). 

Museum collections include the Whistler House Museum of Art in Lowell, MA; three watercolors and one oil in the Fogg Art Museum, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA; and five watercolors in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, MA.

FAIA (February 16, 1880 – June 2, 1966) 

Between 1945 and 1950 he was a member of the United States Commission of Fine Arts.

SALE!!!! Mid Century Urban Decay Watercolor- framed 19” x 16”

This fabulous watercolor of an urban scene is signed in what I believe is JL Southwick. The colors, frame and matting lead me to believe that this painting is from the 1960s. The outside measurement of the frame is 19 x 16“ the inside image is 13 1/2 by 10“. I have not been able to find any other work by this artist, but with the beauty of this work, I hope they had a long career.

Trio of Iconic Boston Scenes Swan Boats Newbury Shops Brownstones Signed Giclee

 

Wow, this has it all. Three iconic Bostonian views, nicely matted and framed, titled "Boston" and pencil signed illegibly by the very talented artist.  First, a summer scene of the beloved swan boats in the pubic gardens, then a print of  brownstones with a cobbled walk and gas lights in the spring. Early Spring Mist Watercolor Listed Rockport Artist Domenic Demeri 1942 - 1994

Gorgeous watercolor painting by celebrated Rockport artist Dominic Demeri.

The landscape is evocative of mist created on the first warm day of spring as the warmth starts to melt the snow.

There is a fortress of solitude feel to this as well.

Just a lovely, serene image.

It measures approximately 20" x 24"

It has been beautifully framed but at some point the glass sustained some scrapes when being moved. 

The frame has some wear as well. These scratches are only seen at certain angles and the painting is ready to hang as is. It's such a nice painting it deserves a new frame or at least new glass and I have priced it accordingly.

Fabulous little piece of art by Donald Gotz, a listed local artist known for his mixed media,  nautical and naturalist art.  Recently purchased from the artists estate with lot's more to come.  This New England landscape features a small stand of birch trees in a small field, in a pine forest. Just beautiful, it evokes a pleasant sense of serenity. Nice size, approx 12" x 18". Perfect for that place that needs a little splash of color.
