Signed Abstract Fall Leaves Block Print Qui Male d' Autumn Prestigious Estate

This unique and beautiful piece of art features an abstract design of falling leaves and

wildflowers in vibrant colors with gilded highlights. This comes from the recent sale of the

prestigious estate of former ambassador to Switzerland, Faith Whittlesey.

She was appointed by Ronald Reagan.

The title is in French and translates to, "Who misses autumn?"

Created using handmade techniques, and is framed and matted for a professional look.

The handsome green mat enhances every color. The artwork is signed in pencil by the

artist and is part of a limited edition. It is numbered 25/60

The dimensions of the piece are 8 1/2 inches in length, 10 1/2 inches in height, and 1/2 inch in width.

It would make a lovely addition to any home or office, and is sure to be a conversation starter.

The artwork is an original, produced in the 1970s and is in excellent condition.

The golden wooden frame has some wear.

Original Mixed Media Donald Gotz Art STAND OF BIRCH Whimsical OOAK

Playful piece of art by Donald Gotz, a listed local artist known for his

mixed media, marine and naturalist art.

This New England fall landscape features a small stand of birch trees

in an autumn field.

It's wonderful.

Not framed.

From the artist's estate.

Artist statement
"As an artist I look at what others consider mundane or

uninviting - from the bow of a boat to the branch of a tree, from a

few discarded objects to the play of shadows on rocks, to the reflections

of a boat's hull against the ever moving water - and see an opportunity

for a painting.

Nature and man's interactions with nature are the main theme of my work.
Be it the remains of old weathered wooden piers, driftwood, old man-made

objects that have found their way into the environment, or just

natural objects - trees, rocks, water. The work itself may represent

man's intrusion into nature or natures own forces at work.

The search for subject matter is never far away. It is as near

as a lake, the seashore, the local walking trail, or the back yard.

Each season brings new opportunities for new paintings.

My media of choice is acrylic, because it allows me to choose to

work as in oil paint or a looser watercolor style or something in-between, all in

one media." Donald Gotz.

Donald Gotz is an artist from Framingham, MA.
BFA in painting and illustration at Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
Also studied at The Museum School of Art (Boston) and School of Practical Art.
