1920s Art Deco Equestrian Christmas card signed JB

Done an incredibly fine detail, and in either watercolor or gouache. This 4.75 x 3 1/2“ illustration depicts a male and female rider approaching the innkeeper at a Merry Xmas Inn.

A note attached to the back reads, “A Merry Xmas“ original pencil and watercolor signed J.B. A note on the verso says “by postal artist JB“ it says circa 1930s probably original art for a published Christmas card. “
The uncredited note aside, I believe the illustration was done in the 20s as it looks very much like the Art Deco covers on Vanity Fair magazine at the time.
The frame job is absolutely beautiful with some wear, the image has some faint foxing. A terrific stylized piece of art that would be perfect to reproduce for your Christmas card.

Check it out in our Etsy shop here.

Framed Pharmacist Oath of Maimonides Bristol Laboratories Illuminated Page

A perfect gift for recent graduates or to enhance the office or pharmacy of any dedicated pharmacist.
This mid century, complex print is very well done.
It is gilded, illustrated and illuminated above and beyond what you'd expect from a burgeoning drug manufacturer.
14 1/2 inches by 11 1/2 inches.
It was published by Bristol Laboratories. That company was acquired by Bristol, Myers, Squib, mid century according to Wikipedia.
I could not find another, only one that was close and not as nice.
It somehow came to the Boston area via a frame shop in Ohio.
A handsome reminder of the sacred ethics sworn to, in humble service to humanity.

In very good condition with some minor wear and tear, commensurable with it's age.

See it here in our eBay store.

Statue De Balzac Study by Rodin Watercolor Print Official Issue Rodin Museum

The look on Balzac's face captured by Rodin is priceless.

When Rodin died, he bequeathed a self financing museum raising it's operating expenses by creating very limited edition reproductions of his art and sculptures as Rodin instructed. This is study is from one of his most controversial statues, his Balzac statue. He revered Balzac, but the public initially balked at this statue.

This is signed in print and bears the official embossed seal from Musee Rodin.
The print is approximately 15 x 11 inches.
The frame has some wear and there is very slight discoloration on the very bottom of the mat.

Mixed Media Painting INTO THE ROUGH Donald Gotz Golf Art

INTO THE ROUGH is a painting in a series of unusual yet beautiful golf themed, multi media works of art by Donald Gotz.

Pleasing colors and a very tranquil blue backdrop.

Needs to be framed or have a wire added to display. An easel would work well too.

Has wear from storage.

Approximately 8" x 16".

Very memorable, edgy, brutalist art.

Perfect for home, club, camp, office, watering hole.

I acquired several other edgy golf themed paintings by the artist.

Let me know if you are interested in more than one.

Happy to make a deal and to combine shipping.

Artist statement

"As an artist I look at what others consider mundane or uninviting - from the bow of a boat to the branch of a tree, from a few discarded

objects to the play of shadows on rocks, to the reflections of a boat's hull against the ever moving water - and see an opportunity for a painting.

Nature and man's interactions with nature are the main theme of my work.

Be it the remains of old weathered wooden piers, driftwood, old man-made objects that have found their way into the

environment, or just natural objects - trees, rocks, water. The work itself may represent man's intrusion into nature or natures

own forces at work. The search for subject matter is never far away. It is as near as a lake, the seashore, the local walking trail, or

the back yard. Each season brings new opportunities for new paintings.

My media of choice is acrylic, because it allows me to choose to work as in oil paint or a looser watercolor style or

something in-between, all in one media." Donald Gotz.

Donald Gotz is an artist from Framingham, MA.

BFA in painting and illustration at Massachusetts College of Art and Design.

Also studied at The Museum School of Art (Boston) and School of Practical Art.

Please examine all the photos to make sure this is to your liking.

Early Spring Mist Watercolor Listed Rockport Artist Domenic Demeri 1942 - 1994

Gorgeous watercolor painting by celebrated Rockport artist Dominic Demeri.

The landscape is evocative of mist created on the first warm day of spring as the warmth starts to melt the snow.

There is a fortress of solitude feel to this as well.

Just a lovely, serene image.

It measures approximately 20" x 24"

It has been beautifully framed but at some point the glass sustained some scrapes when being moved.

The frame has some wear as well. These scratches are only seen at certain angles and the painting is ready to hang as is. It's such a nice painting it deserves a new frame or at least new glass and I have priced it accordingly.

Please examine all the photos to make sure this is to your liking.

Sold as shown.

Cottagecore, coastal decor for sure.

From Rockport, Massachusetts, a renown seaside artist colony.

For sale on eBay here.

Original Painting IN THE ROUGH Mixed Media Artist Signed Cool Golf Art

"In The Rough" is one in a series of unusual yet beautiful golf themed, multi media works of art by Donald Gotz.

Tranquil blue field draws your attention in then you notice the various textures of the piece and it gets a bit jarring. Very cool, slightly edgy, almost brutalist art.
Man cave worthy, club, camp, office.
Please see all the photos to make sure this is to your liking as is.
From the artist's estate.
I got all the golf themed art and my nephew already mooched one of them.
Check back for more.

Listed Artist Carroll Thayer Berry WISCASSET ME. Block Print GREETINGS 1940's

This beautiful Carroll Thayer Berry block print is done on a manila colored paper with a medium colored blue ink. The frame measures 15 inches high by 14 inches wide, the opening of the mat measures 10“ x 8 1/2“.
Across the top is the word “GREETINGS” and across the bottom it reads
“ Janet & Carroll Berry WISCASSET ME.”

The image is of the house that Barry shared with his 2nd wife on Pleasant Street Wiscasset Me.
I purchased this lovely work at auction and although the framing job is very good, it appears that there might have been a tiny bit of… Something on the mat knife when it cut the center opening. It’s not particularly obtrusive but you might want to reframe it. Please see the blown up photographs so you can see what I mean.

More info on this amazing artist couple in the Esty listing. More photo's too.

Check it out in our Etsy shop here.

Notre Dame Paris Street Scene Watercolor by Ch. Maurice Noted Painter of Cathedrals 1950's

Just an absolutely beautiful mid century image of Notre Dame cathedral and the artists that sold their work in its view. Painted in the 1950's as you can tell from the clothing on the individuals, it depicts a post war Paris street scene.
I believe the painting is a watercolor with conte crayon. In the corner it is signed Ch Maurice in a very distinctive signature. Poor Charles Maurice can be found on the web being called Maurice Charles and given an assortment of birthdates relating to many other historic Charles Maurices. Which is a shame, because his work is very good. This beautifully framed painting measures 28“ x 24 in inches. The inside opening image measures 21 1/2“ x 18“. Purchased from a local estate it is in very very good condition but probably could stand to be re-matted.
