Charles Demetropoulos Watercolor Painting Rockport Street June 1952

Delightful watercolor street scene by listed artist Charles Demetropoulos captures the mood of downtown  Rockport, Massachusetts during a summer shower. A woman crosses the street with her umbrella. Someone waits under the porch for the rain to stop.  Cars parked on the street amid the shops and homes of this famous artist's colony. Signed and dated by the artist. June 19, 1952.   The watercolor painting is 24 3/4" x 30 3/4" It bears the stamp from the artist's estate on the back. This painting was last sold at auction in 1996. I have that paperwork and I will give to you. The image itself is in excellent condition while overall this is in very good condition with some wear t o the frame, some areas of discoloration on the mat, and the fabric strip on the fame is loose in areas. Listed Artist Carroll Thayer Berry WISCASSET ME. Block Print GREETINGS 1940's

This beautiful Carroll Thayer Berry block print is done on a manila colored paper with a medium colored blue ink. The frame measures 15 inches high by 14 inches wide, the opening of the mat measures 10“ x 8 1/2“.
Across the top is the word “GREETINGS” and across the bottom it reads
“ Janet & Carroll Berry WISCASSET ME.”

The image is of the house that Barry shared with his 2nd wife on Pleasant Street Wiscasset Me.
I purchased this lovely work at auction and although the framing job is very good, it appears that there might have been a tiny bit of… Something on the mat knife when it cut the center opening. It’s not particularly obtrusive but you might want to reframe it. Please see the blown up photographs so you can see what I mean.
