Stunning abstract painting by noted artist Donald Gotz. Spectacular greens and blues. Approximately 24" x 20" Excellent condition. Ready to hang or have framed. Artist statement "As an artist I look at what others consider mundane or  uninviting - from the bow of a boat to the branch of a tree, from a few  discarded objects to the play of shadows on rocks, to the reflections of a boat's hull against the  ever moving water - and see an opportunity for a painting. Nature and man's interactions with nature are the main theme of my work. Be it the remains of old weathered wooden piers, driftwood, old man-made objects that have  found their way into the environment, or just natural objects - trees, rocks, water. The work itself  may represent man's intrusion into nature or natures own forces at work. The search for subject  matter is never far away. It is as near as a lake, the seashore, the local walking trail, or the back yard.  Each season brings new opportunities for new paintings. My media of choice is acrylic, because it allows me to choose to work as in oil  paint or a looser watercolor style or something in-between, all in one media." Donald Gotz. Original Mixed Media Donald Gotz Painting Art Birch Tree Landscape

Fabulous little piece of art by Donald Gotz, a listed local artist known for his mixed media,  nautical and naturalist art.  Recently purchased from the artists estate with lot's more to come.  This New England landscape features a small stand of birch trees in a small field, in a pine forest. Just beautiful, it evokes a pleasant sense of serenity. Nice size, approx 12" x 18". Perfect for that place that needs a little splash of color. The painting has a slight wave and the frame is a bit dinged up.  Displays beautifully despite that. See it in our eBay store here.

 

NETS A HANGING Mixed Media Ships Mast Rigging Block Tackle Signed Listed OOAK

Fabulous little piece of art by Donald Gotz, a listed local artist known for his mixed media, nautical and naturalist art. 

This is one of three pieces of art with a fishing boat's mast & rigging theme I recently acquired from his estate. 

Mixed media of pen, ink, watercolor and I think a touch of acrylic paint. There is a slight wave to the paper. Framed by the artist.

Shepherd Arch West Distorted Cityscape Charcoal Drawing by Kathy Hodge

Done by artist Kathy Hodge of Rhode Island, this distorted view of a cityscape is titled ”Shepherd Arch West"

Done in charcoal & gouache the artwork is set in a thin edged mat that measures 19” x 25”. The matted artwork is wrapped in its original plastic.

I believe the artwork comes from the 1980s.
