Antique Hotel Del Monte Advertising Corkscrew Opener Del Monte California

 

Fantastic Vaughan Novelty Co. of Chicago advertising pocket corkscrew made for the iconic Hotel Del Monte 

in Del Monte, California. 1930's era.

It has a sleek Art Deco style with embossed lettering and a cool shooting star.

The tip of the corkscrew is very sharp indeed.

The condition is amazing for its age and utilitarian nature.

It has seen little use. It has a couple of tiny spots of rust.

Antique advertising, novelty buttonhook S. Cohen and Co. Kid gloves

This wonderful antique advertising novelty buttonhook (although it’s not hook shaped it is designed to help you button your gloves) was made for” S. Cohen & Co. Dealers in Fringes, Passementerie, Laces, Ornaments, Buttons & Small Wares.” I have a photograph of their advertising that I will show in the last two pictures.
The actual pull through loop is attached to a die-cut silver metal eagle that holds a glove clutched in its claws. Stamped on the back of the eagle are the words “S. COHEN & CO. KID GLOVES WINTER ST.”
The eagle is an excellent condition, especially considering its edge. The loop has some surface rust toward the bend.
The loop is 3 inches long. The eagle is approximately an inch and a half long.

Vintage Pair Brighams Ice Cream Parlor Soda Glasses New England Favorite

 

Pair of glasses from Boston's beloved Brigham's Ice Cream Parlor restaurants. Brigham's logo in script in red on clear glass. Ingredient measuring lines on the back. Approximately 5 inches tall and made by Libbey glass.  Both glasses have some usage wear.  One is in excellent condition but the other has a chip on the bottom rim shown in last 2 photos. Still usable and not very noticeable. Extremely hard to find.  Check out the 10 day eBay auction here.

Pharmaceutical Giveaway Friendly Cholesterol Lump Mug HDL

This adorable little pharmaceutical giveaway or pharmaceutical premium that are given away to promote their products to doctors is a mug in the shape of a lump of cholesterol. On his foot is marked the letters HDL. Little feller stands four inches tall and is in excellent condition. An unusual item.

Quack medicine manufacturer was taken to task.

Since the jurisdiction of Washington DC shut this company down in February 1918, we know this little box advertising quack medicine is over 100 years old. Considering it’s over 100 years old it’s in pretty good condition see all of the photos. 

Produced by the Perkins National Herbs Company Inc. Washington DC USA. The claim was it was “A popular household medicine, pleasant to take - effective in use”.
A copy of the case against them is in the last picture.
