1880 Gorham Hand Hammered Sterling Silver Applied Mixed Metals Serving Spoon

Made in the 1880s this Gorham sterling silver 6 1/2 inch hammered metal spoon has an applied metal cherry design on the handle. I I believe it’s a serving spoon due to the large size of the gold washed bowl. Maybe it was for serving berries. In excellent vintage condition.

Greek Silver Alexander Coins Cufflinks Gold Setting by PARRISH WAGER

These handsome cufflinks were designed and created by master goldsmiths, Louise Parrish and Winifred Wagar.
Life long friends these two jewelry designers, worked in the 1980s when they created pieces of antique-inspired jewelry, combining traditional techniques and sometimes historical elements. Understanding of ancient vocabulary, finesse of production, and contemporary spirit characterize these rare cufflinks.

Greek Macedon, Kings of Macedon, Alexander III (Alexander The Great), ca. 336 to 323 BCE. A fine set of matching cufflinks formed with two 98.4% silver Greek Macedonian Alexander III (Alexander The Great) AR drachms bearing finely preserved details. The coin is set inside of a circular setting shaped from 92% gold (equivalent to 22K+) with a thin back panel of silver that covers the verso of each coin. The front of the setting is adorned with delicate gold rope filigree, and an inscribed signature reading, "Parrish Wager." Size of each (both are relatively similar): 0.75" W (1.9 cm); (coin): 0.625" W (1.6 cm); quality of gold: 92% on front, quality of silver: 98.4%; total weight: 21.1 grams.

Art Deco Sebastian Miniature Stimalose pharmaceutical promotional giveaway sculpture

From the wonderfully weird world of medical advertising giveaways, we have this small, mid century drug advertisement for a drug called “Stimalose”
Made by the Sebastian Miniature company in Marblehead Mass. This little sculpture made of some form of composite plaster, depicts the effect of the drug in question with a sad person, turned into a happy person. After doing some research I believe this was a stimulant appetite suppressant by the Irwin Neilser drug company. (looks like it was pulled off the market in the 60s.)
This rare a little statue is in good, but not excellent condition as it does have some chips that have been colored in. Still, it looks and presents pretty well. See the last picture for the arrow pointing at a colored in chip.
Very Art Deco styling but copyright dated 1954 on the base.

Bing & Gröndahl Kopenhagen Schnecke Snail Figurine Rare

Bing & Gröndahl Kopenhagen Schnecke Snail Figurine.
His horns were broken but it appears he was repaired and glazed after the breaks at the factory.
All others have brown glaze from head to tip of horns. This is smooth and has grey into white glaze.
The thin, long, porcelain horns were not such a great idea so not many of these exist.
Really great glaze. Realism. Very rare.

10 day eBay auction. $9.95 to open.

MCM Red Amber Lucite Grapes Driftwood Matching Candle Holders Console Set

Fabulous Mid century console set features a driftwood grape cluster with matching
wood based candlesticks candle holders.
Redish amber in varying degrees.
It has three plastic clusters of three leaves each that are not fixed to the center
but can be. You can decide if three sets of leaves are too much and you're more of a two leaf cluster person.
The grapes are almost a foot long and are pretty heavy. It is a weighty set.
Memorable centerpiece...trust me.
The set has some wear and a few scratches but it really does display beautifully.

Antique Bronze Usubata Ikebana Japan Leaf and Vine Motif

This nice old vase was recently acquired at a local auction.

A metal three footed vase with tree limbs or vines bearing windswept leaves with a very pleasing, dark bronze patina.

There are breaks at the center circle's seam but it is still a very study vessel and in no current danger of breaking apart.

Just a lovely old thing I am selling as found and leave any cleaning decisions to the new owner.

Please look at all the photo's and enhance them for the most accurate assessment of the condition.

Thank you for looking.

Bezalel School of the Arts Palestine Repoussé Relief Plaque Shepherd Playing Music to Sheep

Such a beautiful piece of work. It was created at the Bezalel School in Palestine, sometime soon after the turn of the last century. This lovely repoussé relief depicts a shepherd playing a flute like instrument for three sheep while relaxing under a tree. A very serene pastoral image.
The outside edge of the plaque measures approximately 5 1/4 inches wide by 6 inches tall and approximately an inch deep. The brass metal plaque measures 3 5/8“ x 4 1/2“. The condition is very, very good but being over 100 years old there is the occasional scratch to the wood. The metal plaque could be polished to a bright shine if the new owner so desired but some people prefer the patina that comes with age. I leave all patina decisions to the new owner. Please see all of the photographs as they are part of the description.

The Bezalel school was an art movement in Palestine in the late Ottoman and British Mandate periods. Named for the Bezalel Art School, predecessor of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, it has been described as "a fusion of oriental art and Art Nouveau."

Gubelin 18k Yellow Gold Libra Zodiac Brooch Astrological Pin Scales of Justice 1980

From their 1980 Zodiac line, this fabulous modernist Gubelin LIBRA Brooch is a rare item. I have not found any of the Zodiac pieces of jewelry that weren’t pendants. I believe this one was bespoke or custom made by Gubelin as the craftsmanship is unwavering. Marked with the company on the bottom outside of the ring and the number 750.
This brooch has clearly seen use but it is not abused. It looks as though it was probably worn on the lapel of a suit jacket on a frequent basis. The modernist style doesn’t scream zodiac, so this pin would also make a fine gift for a lawyer interested in the scales of justice.
The pin weighs 6 g and is 23.75mm in diameter.
If you know this 40 year old line of Zodiac jewelry you’ll know the pendants, in mint condition, are normally priced at $3200.

1915 Royal Doulton Series Ware Tunis Chamberstick Super rare!

This is such an incredibly rare item!

Made by Royal Doulton from 1912 to 1926, and designed by Harry Allen ,the Tunis line was part of their seriesware Middle Eastern scenes.
This fabulous, very large candle holder weighs a pound and a half and is 6 inches in diameter. A heavy duty item. These chambersticks were designed to sit solidly on your nightstand and reduce the possibility of fire.
In all my years of buying and selling I have never seen this chamber stick in this pattern, it is quite the find. Without chips or cracks, it is finely crazed, as is common in Royal Doulton from that era.

1952 Saint Joan of Arc Sebastian Miniature SML 209 Square Base

Isn’t she beautiful? Very hard to find. Made by the Sebastian miniature company of Marblehead, Mass. This statue of Saint Joan of arc is beautifully detailed! Measuring 4 1/2 inches tall, she is in excellent vintage condition. The only fault I could find is a spot at the back of the base that looks like it was a factory fault.

Her base is also marked 1952.
She has her original foil Sebastian miniatures label.

Austria Painted Vienna Bronze Seated Shoemaker Signed by Bergman

Original Austria Painted Vienna Bronze Seated Shoemaker Signed by Bergman.
The underneath of the chair bears the all important B in an urn cartouche that indicates they was indeed made by the fabled foundry of Franz Bergman in Vienna, Áustria. Excellent quality sculpting, detail paintwork as is expected from a Bergman piece. In good condition but has some paint wear, and bent bits as is to be expected with a piece dating from the late 19th century . Measures 5.5 cm high.
An absolute must have for collectors!
Franz Xaver Bergman (or Franz Xaver Bergmann) (1861-1936) was the owner of a Viennese foundry who produced numerous patinated and cold-painted bronze Oriental, erotic and animal figures, the latter often humanized or whimsical, humorous objects d'art.Bergmann was noted for his detailed and colorful work. He signed with either a letter 'B' in an urn-shaped cartouche or 'Nam Greb' - 'Bergman' in reverse. These marks were used to disguise his identity on erotic works. His father, Franz Bergmann (1838-1894), was a professional chaser from Gablonz who came to Vienna and founded a small bronze factory in 1860. Franz Xaver Bergmann inherited the company and opened a new foundry in 1900. Many of the bronzes from the 1900s were still based on designs from his father's workshop. Bergmann is often incorrectly described as a sculptor but he was not; he was a foundry owner. His workshops employed, on a temporary basis, many anonymous sculptors. Bruno Zach employed Bergmann to edit and cast some of his works, with some of the more erotic ones being signed as "Prof. Tuch", a pseudonym used by Zach. At the turn of the 19th century there were about fifty workshops producing Vienna bronzes. 'Cold-painted bronze' refers to pieces cast in Vienna and then decorated in several layers with so-called dust paint; the know-how for the mix of this kind of paint has been lost. The color was not fired hence 'cold painted'. The painting was carried out mainly by women working at home, a typical cottage industry.
Please see all of the photos as they are a major part of the description.
Priced with condition in mind.

RARE ANTIQUE !!!! The other one we found is in a museum.

Porcelain Figure of a Reclining Pug Dog, England, early 19th century Derby figurine.

The sad fact that until the year 1800, the fashion for pug dogs in England, was to have their entire ear bobbed.
There are 5 tiny dots of paint loss on the green base (see pictures to tell the difference between a shine and a dot)
And 2 rub spots to the back of the head.

Attributed to Derby, polychrome enamel decorated with a light brown dog on a green rectangular base, gilt trim line.
