Chinese porcelain rice bowl jun kiln style purple glaze

 

Based on the Chinese song dynasty pottery this beautiful 5 1/2 inch bowl is done in what is referred to as Hares Fur glaze. Looking at the freshness of the clay of the foot ,I can only conclude that this is not ancient pottery, however beautifully made it is. The bowl is 2 inches deep and has a chopped mark on the bottom.

Iridescent Raku Pottery Vase Signed Nick Troisi Blue Red Copper

 

Stunning, jagged edged raku vase is in excellent condition. Abstract, brutalist owl formed vase signed by Nick Troisi. Extraordinary glaze. Some minor artisan flaws.  There are a couple of areas of white that show...one in particular that may look  like a chip but, looking under magnification, it is as the artist made it. It is the nature of how  he created the jagged edge. See photos at the end. There is a slight smell of eucalyptus from the vase interior that is sometimes  associated with the raku firing process.  Check it out in our eBay shop here.

Studio Art Pottery Lidded Jar Vessel Urn Flambeau Crystalline Glaze Signed

 

Stunning covered jar in crystalline glaze. Expertly potted with a snug fitting lid. The colors and pearlessence are complex and amazing.  All pale purple and pink hues. Lavender, lilac, mauve...then the light changes a bit and it  looks dusty pink and silver. If you've never owned pottery with a crystalline glaze, that's what it does.  Crackled and crazed.  The crackling is visible to the naked eye except where a seeded zinc crystal had formed.  Under magnification the crackle resumes, yet smaller. It plays with color and light in the most delightful ways.  It is in excellent condition.  Made during the huge surge in studio art pottery in 60's and 70's Signed illegibly by the artist. I have only seen one other like this. It is lovely. A perfect stash jar or would be the perfect as a receptacle for treasures, trinkets or just display it,  near a window. Mackenzie Childs Victoria & Richard Multi Colored Fish Serving Bowl 15"

 

Wonderful, whimsical hand painted studio art pottery fish platter but deep enough serving bowl by Mackenzie Childs Ltd. 1991. This large bowl is 15" long and 1 1/4" deep and approx 8 3/4' wide.  Party sized, it will hold bountiful  amounts of seafood or your other favorite feasting foods. The potters included holes in the back so it can be hung up to display.  It has seen little if any use. It does have irregularities by the nature of  being studio pottery like small glaze pops.
