Victorian Hand Painted Porcelain Bisque Cherubic Baby in Window Figurine

 

Here is a rosy cheeked, beautiful, milk drinking baby if I ever saw one. 

Blue eyes and blonde curls. From baby central casting.

Ambiguous sex with the babe wearing a pink tasseled stocking cap but also a blue neckerchief. Very clever.

The chubby baby hangs from a shuttered window in a fence or gate shaped container.

It is approx 3 1/2" tall and 2" wide. 

A very pleasing figurine to add to your collection.

The number 72 is stamped in the center of the bottom. 

Above that 29C5 is stamped. Two painted marks that could be the artist's initials.

Very well made for the Victorian era. 

In very good condition. No chips, cracks or crazing. 

Some shelf wear and minor manufacturing flaws.

Jugendstil Movement 800 silver and glass master salt antique salt cellar

This beautiful little open salt cellar is made of 800 silver and glass. The oriental influence in the silverwork and the lines of the forget me not flowers ,speaks so much to the German Jugendstil movement of the end of the 19th century.
This precious little item is marked Gisch 800. I went over the bottom section of the salt cellar with a bit of silver cleaner, I did not do the handle because I liked the patina.
I leave all future patina decisions to the future owner.

Pre War German Putti Child Fine Porcelain Lamp Beautiful Detail

The overall measurements of the lamp is 18 inches tall to the top of the harp. The measurements of the ceramic base is 10 inches tall. There’s no chips or cracks or crazing on this absolutely beautiful little baby boy putti. The attention to detail in the painting and glazing of this remarkable piece is really spectacular. The lamp depicts a cherubic child carrying a pair of baskets.
The fixture seems to work fine the lamp needs to be rewired.

1898 Mezzatinto “Ninnenei und Muhme” by Leopold Graf von Kalckreuth for Pan Magazine

Leopold Graf von Kalckreuth did this absolutely beautiful mezzotint for the German Art Nouveau magazine PAN.

This picture is an original graphic from the magazine that was published from 1895 to 1900, and was run in editions from 1200 to 1600 copies. I have seen this one called  “Homecoming ,Ninnenee’ and Muhme”.

The outside of the frame measures 15”x 17 1/2“. The inside window of the mat is 8 1/4“ x 10“. The plate impression measures 9 1/4“ x 5 1/2“.

This incredibly rare image is so warm and tender, reflecting the love of a senior member of the family for a new wee babe.

An excellent gift for an auntie or a grandmother.  It is presently without glass, which will make it cheaper to ship. Affordable art and for short money, your framer will make this a family heirloom.

French Garden Fleurence Round Covered Vegetable Bowl by Villeroy & Boch

In excellent condition, it doesn’t even look like it was ever used this round covered vegetable bowl is in the French Garden Fleurence pattern by Villeroy and Boch.
Made of porcelain and crafted in Germany it holds 48 ounces in a seven and three-quarter inches wide. No chips cracks or crazing just beautiful.
