Some of the most beautiful Japanese eggshell porcelain combined with outstanding enameling talent went into the making of these two beautiful cups and saucers. Made during the Taisho period, they come from the first quarter of the 20th century. The painting of the peony flower and the greenery and leaves that are painted under the base are breathtaking. The butterflies are painted in elegant, minute detail. There are even a few dragonflies. Very rare Kutani ware. In amazingly perfect condition.
