19th Century Ottoman Palaska Cartridge Box

Antique Turkish Ottoman Balkan Cartridge Pouch or Cartridge Box (Palaska)

The back of the box has a belt attachment . These boxes contained ready-made paper covered ball and powder cartridges.

This deeply worked piece shows an uncommon mastery of metal work on every square inch of the surface.

Taking into consideration its age, upwards of 140 years old, it’s in amazing vintage condition. It has three loops on the bottom of the box. The adornments that hung there are missing.

Measures 3-1/4” square by 1-3/8 wide.
