This endearing scene is delightfully captured by an extremly talented Anri wood carver. 

It evokes very sentimental feelings. Masterful work.

The carving is a larger size, approximately 3" wide  x 7" tall and marked Italy on the bottom.

It is signed illegibly by the artist.

Wonderful condition for it's age. It has wear, especially at the base. It was cared for but some dusty crevices.

There is a small nick at the bottom of the man's jacket but there is the paint inside the nick by the artist. It is an artisan inclusion. 

Most likely made mid century but could be earlier.

It would be a perfect wedding or anniversary gift.

RARE 1936 Adrian R Woodall Folk Art Carving African American Man Signed ARW 1936

These beautiful little works of art carved by Adrian Woodall are exceedingly rare and hard to find. This one is in marvelous condition, from the beginning of Mr. Woodall‘s professional career. Note the detail in the hair, and the handsome patina of the paint.
Standing 6 1/4 inches tall, he is signed on the base ARW 1936.
I was so lucky able to purchase both he and a Carving of a woman from the same era. Contact us via Etsy for a deal on the pair.

RARE 1937 Adrian R Woodall Carving of a Black Woman African American Folk Art

This wonderful little carving of a African-American woman by Adrian R. Woodall is exceedingly rare and hard to find. This carving in particular comes from the beginning of Mr. Woodall‘s professional career, and has a beautiful patina to her paint job. She stands approximately 6 inches and is marked on the bottom ARW 1937, in pencil.

Vtg ANRI Wooden Carved Elderly Couple Made in Italy

Standing approximately 5 inches this adorable little elderly couple are hand carved in Italy. ANRI woodcarvings are famous the world round and these two little figures are fine examples of the type of art that they produce. In terrific vintage condition, there is a small amount of loss of paint to the very mouth piece of the old man’s clarinet. Most likely carved in the 30s or 40s.
