This beautifully carved bust of Jesus Christ was made in Italy, as is inscribed in the bottom. The craftsmanship is astounding. I have seen other alabaster carved busts of Jesus with similar form and style that are labeled “after professor Giuseppe Bessi”. Though smaller ,this is very much in that style. Measuring approximately 7 1/2 inches tall and a bit over 4 inches deep, it is an excellent vintage condition for a piece over 100 years old. Someone miss handled him and a small area of his thorned crown is damaged in the front. It’s a tiny tiny problem.The detail on this is superb.*Take 20% off when you spend $50.00 or more.
