Vintage Chinese Boy Buffalo Trinket Shard Box Silver Wash Copper

 

Handsome porcelain shard vanity box is in very good condition.

Nicely tooled silver washed copper with ornate sides and the lid has a mirror inside.

This features a hand painted scene of a boy riding a water buffalo across water. Unusual.

Approximately 2 inches in diameter it is perfect for trinkets, baubles, snuff, prized jewelry or gifts.

I believe this was purchased from Honolulu Academy of Arts Museum shop in the 1970's 

along with several other boxes I was 

fortunate enough to acquire.
