1920s Tettau Kunst Abtellung porcelain gem beetle scarab box

This absolutely gorgeous little 3 inch scarab decorated porcelain box is in remarkable condition.
Most likely made during the 1920s Egyptian revival era this fine white porcelain is highlighted with the relief of a gem beetle scarab. It is marked on the bottom Tettau Kunst Abtellung.
There are no chips no cracks no crazing, and the glaze is beautiful.
Rare and fine, I have only seen one other in my 50 years of buying and selling.

Antique Islamic Muslim Ottoman Syrian Brass Koran Quran Casket Box

When I bought this box, I was happy to see it came with a little note, which says “This little box came from Syria. Bought at worlds fair in Chicago in 1893“. The research I have done on this box and the style it is done in, does reflect that it was made at the end of the 19th century. A super rare item it is in exceptional condition for its age. The box measures a bit under 2 1/2 inches square and is a smidgen over 1 inch tall.
The box is decorated with figures of human beings and snakes, birds and horses.
A very rare item.

$375
