I recently purchased these from the Sherborn, Ma family estate of Reagan ambassador to Switzerland, Faith Whittlesey. The red velveteen box has some minor storage wear and the 2 decks of cards are still sealed. Featuring the Great Seal of the United States. Victorian Novelty 800 Silver Miniature Sedan Chair Dance Card Box

A rare late Victorian novelty silver miniature playing card or dance card box modeled in the form of a Sedan Chair. Hinged domed lid and each panel chased and embossed with intricate repousse scroll work. Vacant caroutche windows to the front and sides. Hallmarked on the bottom with a crowned N, 800 continental Hanau silver. About a 140 years old. Measures 2-1/2" tall, 2-3/4" long and 1" wide.
