Signed Abstract Fall Leaves Block Print Qui Male d' Autumn Prestigious Estate

 

This unique and beautiful piece of art features an abstract design of falling leaves and  wildflowers in vibrant colors with gilded highlights. This comes from the recent sale of the  prestigious estate of former ambassador to Switzerland, Faith Whittlesey.  She was appointed by Ronald Reagan. The title is in French and translates to, "Who misses autumn?" Created using handmade techniques, and is framed and matted for a professional look.  The handsome green mat enhances every color. The artwork is signed in pencil by the  artist and is part of a limited edition. It is numbered 25/60 The dimensions of the piece are 8 1/2 inches in length, 10 1/2 inches in height, and 1/2 inch in width.  It would make a lovely addition to any home or office, and is sure to be a conversation starter.  The artwork is an original, produced in the 1970s and is in excellent condition.  The golden wooden frame has some wear. 1920s Tettau Kunst Abtellung porcelain gem beetle scarab box

 

This absolutely gorgeous little 3 inch scarab decorated porcelain box is in remarkable condition.
Most likely made during the 1920s Egyptian revival era this fine white porcelain is highlighted with the relief of a gem beetle scarab. It is marked on the bottom Tettau Kunst Abtellung.
There are no chips no cracks no crazing, and the glaze is beautiful.
Rare and fine, I have only seen one other in my 50 years of buying and selling.

The Steuben signature can be seen on the bottom of the cat in the picture where it is being held in my hand.

Large antique bohemian glass vanity box

 The condition of this unusually large vanity box is remarkable!

Made of what I believe to be Bohemian glass, it stands on four metal legs, and is bound with a brass edge and clasp.
Made well over 100 years ago, the glass is unchipped. There is some discoloration to the finish on the banding that surrounds the opening.
The box is approximately 7 inches in diameter and stands a shade over 4 1/2 inches tall.
Vanity boxes of this shape were frequently used for jewelry boxes and powder boxes. I don’t believe this was ever used as a jewelry box, because the interior is in such good shape.
Made up of an translucent, frosted whitish glass, highlighted with spatters of royal blue, gold and yellow, this rare piece is a stunner!

Auction ends this afternoon - Antique Estate Large Desktop Bronze Cannon Replica Wood Carriage

 Handsome and heavy bronze cannon replica came from a fine New England estate.

The cast bronze cannon is just over 9 inches long and the barrel opening is 3/4 inch in diameter.

The carriage is about 7 1/2 inches long.

Rich honeyed patina on the bronze.

No markings.

This took a fall and the carriage needs repair.

The almost 6 pound bronze part is fine. The wagon should be easily repaired.

It holds the bronze part but could use some shoring up.

Auction ends this morning - CBS Broadcast Pioneer Dr. Frank Stanton Novelty Envelope Money Clip Fifth Ave NY

 For your consideration is a Swank money clip in the form of a posted letter, with the name and address of legendary CBS broadcast pioneer, Frank Stanton.

It is a mid century novelty money clip made by Swank in the form of an addressed envelope with a little red jewel as a stamp.

It was expertly engraved with his name and fabulous Fifth Avenue address, right across from Central Park.

It was carried and loved and has commensurate wear.

A very unusual and very cool bit of broadcast and NYC historical memorabilia.

Silpada Pearl and Rose Quartz Sterling Silver Pierced Earrings

 

Lovely vintage Silpada earrings feature rose quartz and pearls.

The pink stones have almost a moonstone glow to them.

The natural quartz has flaws that are seen only under magnification.

These earrings drop about 1/2 inch and I added new backs marked 925 as the original ones were missing.

Muskox Stone Carving Sculpture Inuit Artist Charles M Kokuluk Nome Alaska 1970 - New Price

Early Charles M. Kokuluk carving.  Noted Inupiaq artist, of King Island, Nome and Anchorage, Alaska.  Known for his realistic carvings of Alaskan birds in walrus ivory. Works in the British Museum and other prominent collections. This muskox was carved in Nome, Alaska in 1970, very early in his career. This stone musk ox is approximately 3 1/2 inches long, 1 inch wide and 1 1/2 inches tall. There is wear and the stone has a few flaws. See it here on eBay

Buckner Rainer 860 Antique Cast Iron Garden Lawn Hose Sprinkler Fresno CA - 10 Day Auction

This beautifully designed lawn sprinkler is made of cast iron by Buckner  Manufacturing in Fresno, California. It is quite aesthetically pleasing, it even has some of its original red paint present,  mostly on the bottom. The sprinkler works but I cannot say whether it works perfectly as intended, and it  may need a tune-up if it were to be used, such as a new rubber washer, etc. It is about 8 3/4 inches long, 5 1/2 inches tall and 8 inches wide. Rich, dark  patina. Some wear and tear commensurate with its age.

Extraordinary Victorian Cut Glass Hand Sculpture Paperweight - New Low Price

 

Queen Victoria commissioned souvenir sculptures of her children's limbs, arms, feet and hands and gifted them to Albert, starting a fad. This hand is worked out of glass. The plinth appears to be molded and cut black glass. This is quite an eye catcher as wherever any light hits the clear hand, it emits an eerie glow.  It is in exceptional condition with some natural faults inside the glass and some flea bites on the plinth. This displays beautifully. Very playful with lighting.  Quite rare. It would be fabulous in a Halloween display. See it in our eBay store here.

SALE! Rare antique Bezalel School of the Arts Palestine repoussé relief plaque shepherd playing music to his sheep

 

Such a beautiful piece of work. It was created at the Bezalel School in Palestine, sometime soon after the turn of the last century. This lovely repoussé relief depicts a shepherd playing a flute like instrument for three sheep while relaxing under a tree.
The outside edge of the plaque measures approximately 5 1/4 inches wide by 6 inches tall and approximately an inch deep. The brass metal plaque measures 3 5/8“ x 4 1/2“. The condition is very very good but being over 100 years old there is the occasional scratch to the wood. The metal plaque could be polished to a bright shine if the new owner so desired, but some people prefer the patina that comes with age.
