Iridescent Raku Pottery Vase Signed Nick Troisi Blue Red Copper

 

Stunning, jagged edged raku vase is in excellent condition. Abstract, brutalist owl formed vase signed by Nick Troisi. Extraordinary glaze. Some minor artisan flaws.  There are a couple of areas of white that show...one in particular that may look  like a chip but, looking under magnification, it is as the artist made it. It is the nature of how  he created the jagged edge. See photos at the end. There is a slight smell of eucalyptus from the vase interior that is sometimes  associated with the raku firing process.  Check it out in our eBay shop here.

Charles Demetropoulos Watercolor Painting Rockport Street June 1952

Delightful watercolor street scene by listed artist Charles Demetropoulos captures the mood of downtown  Rockport, Massachusetts during a summer shower. A woman crosses the street with her umbrella. Someone waits under the porch for the rain to stop.  Cars parked on the street amid the shops and homes of this famous artist's colony. Signed and dated by the artist. June 19, 1952.   The watercolor painting is 24 3/4" x 30 3/4" It bears the stamp from the artist's estate on the back. This painting was last sold at auction in 1996. I have that paperwork and I will give to you. The image itself is in excellent condition while overall this is in very good condition with some wear t o the frame, some areas of discoloration on the mat, and the fabric strip on the fame is loose in areas. Statue De Balzac Study by Rodin Watercolor Print Official Issue Rodin Museum

The look on Balzac's face captured by Rodin is priceless.

When Rodin died, he bequeathed a self financing museum raising it's operating expenses by creating very limited edition reproductions of his art and sculptures as Rodin instructed. This is study is from one of his most controversial statues, his Balzac statue. He revered Balzac, but the public initially balked at this statue.

 
This is signed in print and bears the official embossed seal from Musee Rodin.

The print is approximately 15 x 11 inches.

The frame has some wear and there is very slight discoloration on the very bottom of the mat.

A hinged and footed Egyptian revival damascene trinket box or snuff box has seen use and has areas of wear and discoloration.

The hinge has come loose but is stable and works. 

Approximately 2 in long and 1 1/ in wide and 1 in tall.

German Shepard Dog Bronze Bookends Mid Century in very good condition. Handsome dogs with a nice patina. Each bookend weighs almost 3 pounds. Bronze or bronze clad. Industry noted design by McCobb. This cake plate measures 4 1/4 in tall and 10 inches in diameter.

Paul McCobb (1917-1969). Teapot and Lid, Contempri Design, Eclipse Pattern, 1960-1965. Semi-porcelain, Overall (a & b): 7 x 10 1/8 x 8 1/4 in. (17.8 x 25.7 x 21 cm). Per the Brooklyn Museum where the same pot is part of their collection.

Enormous 9 3/4 cup os 78 oz. capacity. 2 pieces, pot and lid.
