Victorian Hand Painted Porcelain Bisque Cherubic Baby in Window Figurine

 

Here is a rosy cheeked, beautiful, milk drinking baby if I ever saw one. 

Blue eyes and blonde curls. From baby central casting.

Ambiguous sex with the babe wearing a pink tasseled stocking cap but also a blue neckerchief. Very clever.

The chubby baby hangs from a shuttered window in a fence or gate shaped container.

It is approx 3 1/2" tall and 2" wide. 

A very pleasing figurine to add to your collection.

The number 72 is stamped in the center of the bottom. 

Above that 29C5 is stamped. Two painted marks that could be the artist's initials.

Very well made for the Victorian era. 

In very good condition. No chips, cracks or crazing. 

Some shelf wear and minor manufacturing flaws.

Collector's Lot of British Royalty Commemorative China Elizabeth II

 

The 4 items in this lot consist of; A porcelain bell by Lysander Fine Bone China, England to commemorate the  queen's silver jubilee. Approx. 4" tall. A porcelain pin dish by Royal Standard Fine Bone China, England to  commemorate her coronation. Approx. 4 1/4" across. A porcelain pin dish by Salisbury Bone China, England to commemorate her coronation. Photograph by Marcus Adams. With her children. Approx. 4 1/4" across. A porcelain plate by Midwinter Fine Tableware, Staffordshire, England. to  commemorate the wedding Of Prince Charles to Lady Diana Spencer. Approx. 9" across. These delightful souvenirs are all in good condition. They all suffer some loss  of gilding and washing wear from the many years of maintenance. None are chipped or  cracked.  The Charles and Diana plate has minor craze lines.  The two pin dishes are well made but the photo of her Majesty are obviously imperfect  due flaws of printing the photographs onto pottery. Still... These are embellished with all manner of British symbolism associated with the crown and monarchy. Very pretty things. A nice addition for your royals collection. Beautiful scene of the Madonna lovingly attending the Christ child in an unusual but breathtaking  nativity scene. By a very talented but unknown artist. Trio of Iconic Boston Scenes Swan Boats Newbury Shops Brownstones Signed Giclee

 

Wow, this has it all. Three iconic Bostonian views, nicely matted and framed, titled "Boston" and pencil signed illegibly by the very talented artist.  First, a summer scene of the beloved swan boats in the pubic gardens, then a print of  brownstones with a cobbled walk and gas lights in the spring. Finally an evening scene of  Newbury St. shops in a snowstorm. This is the perfect assortment of scenes that would get even the most stodgiest Bostonian to smile. c 1930 BW Photo Park Street Boston Massachusetts Statehouse 223/1000

So much going on in this matted,framed, and numbered silver gelatin photo.  Chilly Bostonians attend to their business in the heart of the city next to  Boston Common, looking up towards the gold dome of the Massachusetts statehouse.  Some businesses are still here but most are gone, with some not forgotten. Late 1920s early 1930s? I am unsure of the significance of this image, but it looks like a press photo.  It has been numbered 223/1000.  I hope more information would be available on the back of the photographic image.  8" x 10" image in a 14" x 17" (approx.) frame. The frame is chippy and shabby but ready to hang. Check out the ebay auction here

Romantic Pair Antique Hand Painted 5 Well Oyster Plates

 

Have a proper romantic dinner with this gorgeous pair of oyster plates or trays.  Late 19th century. Intricately hand painted and hand enameled. Imported and sold by Ovington Brothers, New York. Early Spring Mist Watercolor Listed Rockport Artist Domenic Demeri 1942 - 1994

Gorgeous watercolor painting by celebrated Rockport artist Dominic Demeri.

The landscape is evocative of mist created on the first warm day of spring as the warmth starts to melt the snow.

There is a fortress of solitude feel to this as well.

Just a lovely, serene image.

It measures approximately 20" x 24"

It has been beautifully framed but at some point the glass sustained some scrapes when being moved. 

The frame has some wear as well. These scratches are only seen at certain angles and the painting is ready to hang as is. It's such a nice painting it deserves a new frame or at least new glass and I have priced it accordingly.

Fabulous little piece of art by Donald Gotz, a listed local artist known for his mixed media,  nautical and naturalist art.  Recently purchased from the artists estate with lot's more to come.  This New England landscape features a small stand of birch trees in a small field, in a pine forest. Just beautiful, it evokes a pleasant sense of serenity. Nice size, approx 12" x 18". Perfect for that place that needs a little splash of color.
